Though inland far we be, our souls have sight of that immortal sea. Water drenched his face and shirt as his idle floating at the surface was disrupted by muscular men in shorts. He came upright, frowning at the hair that was now in his face. Flicking it out of his face crossly he shot small glares at the two guys, but they seemed like too much of a bother to deal with right now. And yet all I get is cruel appreciation by guys who have no sense for anything. He dove beneath the surface, going far below their feet as he broke for the surface a distance away. Sighing he headed for shore, having to walk a ways to get back to his stuff. He wrung out the white t-shirt he had worn into the water, tossing it over his shoulder as he dug through his bag for a towel. Oh come one, don't tell me I forgot to bring a stupid towel... It was bad enough he couldn't remember anything else, a towel being the least of his worries. All he knew was that he did NOT like the guy who made him blow up in bubbles,(According to his dreams at least.) that he missed his friend,(s? They were all mainly about one person.) and that his name was Demyx.(He'd adopted the last name Nacken.) He was apparently a junior at the highschool and worked at the local convenience store just around the corner from his apartment. So much for having a life, no wonder he forgot most of it! It seemed pretty boring to him, but it was better than nothing he guessed. I mean, he could be some nobody at all. At least he had something to live for. For whatever we lose, it's always ourself we find in the sea.

Roxas walked along the beach and smelled the salt air. For some odd reason the smell reminded him of a treat long since forgotten, but the only treat that currently interested him was ice cream. The sun was beating down on his face and he shook his spiky blond locks of hair on his head. Alright, enough, I get the point, I need some coolness, he said inside his head. Walking over to the ocean he set his towel down and took off his shirt. Rushing into the waiting water he ducked his head under the lapping waves, enjoying the cooling blue as it engulfed his body. It just went to show, that when the going got hot, it was best to cool off in the drowning waves of the beach. Pushing his head through the waves he settled onto his back, and didn't know why, but the water reminded him of some one.
Shaking his head he got up and began to make his way back to the sand. Picking up his towel he noticed a guy, probably a little older then him, just standing there. He had spiky hair and looked pretty much like he was in a rock band. Seeing him dig around in his bag, he presumed it was the missing towel that brought up this sudden concern. Walking over he stood there, just watching the guy and pondering on if he knew him. Then it hit him, of course, this guy...was from his school. Most kids in this town went to the same school, so why it didn't occur to him sooner, he perhaps just was lost in getting rid of the heat on his back.
"Ah hey, want to borrow my towel? I wasn't going to rush from here anyway, and the sun is doing well on getting rid of the droplets of water on me." Roxas held out the towel for the guy to take. He wouldn't be offended if he didn't take it, as it was just a towel, it wasn't a gift or anything. Most of the other people joined around the beach were gathering their surfboards ready to catch some knarly waves, while others were placing blankets on the sand and coasting their bodies down.

Just as he had found it, scrunched up into a bundled mess at the bottem of his bag he turned to turn down the offer. Politely of course but, thise guy...Where was he from? 'Have I seen him around here before-? Or was it...' He gave a smile. "Oh it's fine...I found it." He apologized, pulling out the wrinkled mess. "Thanks though." 'Crap...How do I ask now? I just ended the conversation there didn't I?' He thought, mentally sighing. Sometimes he really wished he payed more attention to important things like this. "Er...Do you, go to school 'round here?" He asked hesitently. 'You probably sound like an idiot Demyx. Where's the adgenda when I need it? He was constantly getting off track or loosing his way, mainly relying on what people tell him to do and subtle reminders of what he was supposed to be doing. His fridge was plastered with sticky-notes from the previous night of things he was to do that morning, and 'Go Swimming' was one of the less boring ones. Maybe he'd do that grocery shopping he planned on doing later tomorrow... At least, if this kid proved to be any sort of conversation. he really could do with a friend right now. Or at least someone who wasn't just another face to chat with that you'd never see again. he liked people, but people didn't always like him.

Roxas nodded his head as the kid told him no thanks. It was alright though, he figured, why use someone else's blanket when they had one of their own, that they were familiar with. It was much like having an offer of say a pencil, when they preferred the usage of their own. Hoisting the blanket and laying it on his back he looked up at the sun. He figured that by the positioning of the sun, the time was close to 9...leaning towards 9:30. Today his plans didn't consist of much, so he figured he would hang out at the ocean, and luckily company was here. Waiting for the kid to speak, he played the sand between his toes and already felt his body warming up from the lack of the cold that the water gave him earlier. Could this boy be someone I once knew, but somehow forgot about? It wouldn't be the first time, he thought, everyday a person walks by me at school, and I sware they resemble someone that might know me.
The kid asked him he attended school, and he nodded his head. "Oh yeah, a day won't go by unless I hear that ringing bell in my head. I'm a freshman in the school...er...it isn't too far from here actually. I shuffle from school to my job, but a little too much information huh? You look a bit older then me, so, you a grade up or so?" Roxas figured he would be the talker in this conversation, though, something told him he wasn't much of a talker. Maybe I have another self in a au whom is quiet and shy, and I happen to be picking up the slack that he is having. It was close enough, and luckily easier to digest then saying he was sleeping and the true self of his inner being happened to be struggling to break through the fold of darkness.

Demyx gave a small grin. So he was right, kinda. He was a freashman, probably meant he was just another face he saw when roaming the commons between classes or after school. "I'm a junior, don't worry though. I don't bite." He joked lightly. It was funny how some of the shorter ones, even if they were in the same grade skittered about like the tall upperclassmen were going to squish them. School was basically like life, except that you didn't get as severely punished. And that you were basically under the rule of whatever the school's administrators said. Yeah, school sucked. Sometimes. But then again, that's where all his 'friends' were(What friends? He could barely remember anyone in his class.) So he guessed it was okay for the most part. //Sorry for the shortness...//

((It's alright))
Roxas smiled as he heard he didn't bite. Most of the upper level class tended to pick on his grade. Being a freshman was like walking into the middle of the field with a red target on their shirt, ready to be taken advantage of. Roxas did at times fear of being stuffed in a locker, or tied up on a flagpole by his boxers, but, he didn't even want to think about that. Fear was only as worse and dark as the person who unleashed it from its very cage. Fear was energy that built off an individual through some action, perhaps too much level of energy that just built till it was a catastrophic level...hence where nightmares came from. Whatever the case, the end result was this guy wasn't going to harm him. They were just two dudes hanging by the ocean view, holding onto towels and just chilling for the day where the sun didn't shy away from them as clouds played along its vision. Shaking his head he wore a smile.
Extending his hand out he smiled at him. "Since we're on friendly terms here, best to know each other's names huh? My name is Roxas, I know weird. I have no last name, so I guess Roxas will do, and you are..?" Roxas tilted his head to the side and tried to think what name would fit this character of a guy he just met.

The little guy didn’t seem that bad. He wasn’t about to be a typical scary upperclassmen and throw him in a locker or lock him in the gym or anything like that. He looked like a nice guy, but then again he was a freshman, so really; what harm could he do to an upperclassman like himself? It wasn’t that he doubted all freshman and automatically grouped them in with all the rest, he just didn’t think a kid shorter than him(he took great pride in his height, even though he’s not the tallest guy you would meet) Although, he could vaguely ‘remember’ getting his butt handed to him by some kid that… Wait a minute. He looked the kid over a second time. Demyx you’re imagining things. “Guy in the death dream” has brown hair. And unless he got a major haircut and/or stylist and dyed his hair blonde, this is not “guy from the death dream”. Plus, he looks too nice for that. He smiled back extending his own hand to shake Roxas’ “I’m Demyx. Just Demyx I guess, funny thing last names are.” He said awkwardly, trying not to give out his fake last name. Coming up with your own is kinda hard sometimes, so when your brain dies and you can’t think of anything else, you read. Nacken are Scandinavian male water spirits. The story is actually quite interesting, if he could ever remember the name of the book he found it in. Point being; His unofficial last name wasn’t the most pleasant of things; Nacken’s normally being a sign of death on the water, their music luring in the easily captivated to their deaths. But it’s sad really, all they want is company. They’re mostly harmless to the audience they attract with their songs. Demyx you’re thinking too much again. “It’s not really that odd. I mean I’m sure there are others who are ‘last name less’ like you.” Oh yeah, that’s a great way to make him feel better about that.
